Mechanical Technologist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preventive Maintenance Regime

• Timely generation and closure of Work Orders for PM and CM
• Plan; liaise with vendors; raise necessary permits; execution; and completion of PM works
• Retrieve relevant SOP/RA/PTP and PM checklist

Progressive Replacement Regime

• Plan; liaise with vendors; review PTP and RA; raise necessary permits; execute, complete, and track the status of Progressive Maintenance Regime in tracking file.
• Check; draw; and prepare inventories for use in the regime
• Raise Purchase Request for jobs and material if it is not in inventory

Root Cause Finding

• Assist equipment engineer in root cause finding through 8D report adopting 5-Whys; verification of suspected root cause; perform corrective actions; and preventive actions, to prevent recurrence

Continuous Upgrading

• Participate and timely completion of in-house training and activities
• Learning Events (LE)
• EQCC/QCC
• TPM
• Cost savings projects

Compliance

• Perform works in accordance to

1. Code of Ethics and Conduct
2. Facilities Discipline
3. Micron Cultures
4. RA
5. SOP
6. PTP

• Perform LOTO to equipment for PM/CM
• Perform Risk Assessments when working with

1. mechanical/electrical/fire/chemical hazards
2. confine space
3. working at height (WAH)
4. hot work
5. lifting / hoisting using lifting devices; lorry crane; and mobile crane

• Select and put on correct PPE the PM/CM
• Keep track of work hours to ensure no violation

REQUIREMENTS:

• NiTEC or Higher NiTEC in Mechanical engineering with minimum 3 years of working experience in relevant mechanical field.
• Knowledge of Excel; PowerPoint; and Word application
• Knowledge of concepts and applications of Bearings; Belts; Pulleys; Couplings; and motor health status.
• Knowledge of tools such as

1. Vernier caliper; Micrometer; bore gauge; and Dial indicator
2. Pulley alignment; Pulley wear off; and Belt tension gauge
3. Bearings mounting and dismounting tools
4. Insulation tester

• Knowledge in working principles of Mechanical systems such as

1. Make-up Air Unit (MAU); Vertical Laminar Flow fan (VLF); Recirculating Unit (RCU); Air Handling Unit (AHU); and Fan Coil Unit (FCU)
2. Exhaust Systems (Acid Exhaust; Caustic Exhaust; Solvent Exhaust; and General Exhaust)
3. Wet Scrubbers and Solvent Abatement
4. Chillers
5. Cooling Towers
6. Pumps (Condenser Water Pumps; Chilled Water Pumps; Hot Water Pumps; Process Cooling Water Pumps)
7. Process Vacuum Pump
8. Water Treatment (Condenser Water with Newater and Recycled water; Chilled Water; Process Cooling Water; and Hot Water)

• Knowledge of Fire system and Electrical/Instrumentation will be an advantage
