Responsibilities
Work Function 1: Support Hostel Operations
To manage soft services of a student hostel that includes:
- Dining hall with caterer, laundry, cleaning, pest controls and vending machines
- Food & Beverages - ensure good quality, sufficient quantity, food handling hygiene & friendliness of server and chefs
- Conduct regular checks, maintenance and handle complaints related to laundry
- Conduct regular checks and clean-ups to ensure cleanliness of hostel
- Conduct regular checks, maintenance relating to other essential equipment and services
- Review duty manager’s report and follow up when necessary
- Coordinate with other departments / staff in relation to supporting the boarders
- Conduct room checks for boarders leaving or going on holidays to ensure the room is restored to proper condition on a half-yearly basis
- Seek approval from Operations Manager for procurement of goods and services from vendors and/or suppliers
- Verify monthly invoices of service providers and vendors (e.g. food catering, cleaning and laundry services)
- Liaise with vendors on faults and claims and ensure timely resolution
Work Function 2: Manage and Assist New and Existing Boarders
- Conduct regular checks, maintenance relating to other essential equipment and services
- Liaise with vendor for SP gas installation inspection
- Liaise with vendor for tuning of pianos
- Conduct stock checks for inventory such as beddings and cleaning equipment
- Service water dispensers on a half-yearly basis
- Replace faulty equipment in resident apartments
- Seek approval from Operations Manager for procurement of goods and services from vendors and/or suppliers
- Verify monthly invoices of service providers and vendors (e.g. food catering, cleaning and laundry services)
- Liaise with vendors on faults and claims and ensure timely resolution
Requirements
- Polytechnic Diploma/Vocational/Technical or equivalent
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with working with external F&B vendors and soft services providers
