Our client is a large and established US Headquartered Energy and Commodity trading firm. As part of their expansion plans, they are looking to add a new headcount to their legal team supporting the organization's trading & supply business. This is an excellent opportunity for any commodity trading / shipping lawyer to join the organization and work in a highly dynamic and closely knitted team.
Responsibilities
As part of the legal team, the individual will be providing legal advice in relation to the firm's crude and petrochemical trading business. You will be involve in the drafting and the negotiating of these agreements and working with various internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth transaction. Some of the agreements includes but not limited to physical trading contracts, financing agreements, sales & purchase agreements etc. You will also be providing legal advices arising on the trading of products on exchanges such as ICE or CME.
You are also required to handle any shipping disputes matter that arises and assist in the drafting and negotiation of charterparties agreement.
Requirements
In order to succeed in this role, you should have at least 7 years of working experience in a commodity trading/oil & gas environment and familiarity with Incoterms would be preferred. You should ideally be called to the Singapore bar/UK bar.
