We are currently looking for an Associate Director / Director of Urbanism to join the Singapore Studio with a primary focus on the international market with an emphasis on South East Asia and Middle East markets.
The role has an important part to play within the team so a desire to develop new markets and work closely with the wider team, and also the senior leadership team within the Masterplanning team, to expand the portfolio and reach is expected. The focus will be on the International markets, helping to expand the team and strengthen collaboration between urbanism and architectural units, as well as expanding the working relationship with other BM urbanism studios. Interest in research and new industry solution is expected, as well as the ability to mentor and pass knowledge on to more junior team members.
The role will require:
· Knowledge of the international markets with emphasis on South East Asia and Middle East markets, its cultural and design context, as well as the working environment
· Management skills, with the ability to delegate, organise and lead complex projects and a large team
· Understanding of workflows and industry software in order to manage the team and process efficiently and knowledgeably
· Ability to travel abroad and coordinate work with other teams based remotely
· Skilled in managing the wider consultant’s teams; ability to track scope changes, and sub-consultant's deliverables; ability to manage project risks and flag those to the Director in charge in a timely manner
· Interest and ability in managing projects in the BM’s Business Management system and developing the skills to ensure the smooth running of projects
· Creative - with the ability to hand sketch masterplans and urban design solutions
· A creative way of approaching projects, communication of ideas, and way of working
· Interest in industry innovation – to push new ideas and inspire colleagues
· The ability to stay calm under pressure especially when working to project deadlines
· A desire to succeed, efficient and a positive can-do attitude
