We are looking for an experienced, versatile and enthusiastic journalist to lead the Energy team in Asia. As the team leader, you will steer coverage of all aspects of this broad sector, from the liquefied natural gas boom to Indian coal, Chinese oil majors and the global transition toward cleaner energy.
You will help reporters break news that has an impact on a global audience, and coordinate across teams and platforms to ensure our coverage has the impact it deserves. Resourcefulness is a must, as is the ability to coach and motivate.
You will be required to work across formats, from breaking news to newsletters, features and documentaries, and should thrive on stories that cross into economics, politics and climate. You will also work closely with Bloomberg Green to ensure our coverage is seamless as well as powerful.
We'll trust you to:
- Demonstrate exceptional news judgement
- Write and edit clear and comprehensive stories
- Mentor, lead, motivate and inspire a team of reporters to conceive and develop ideas
- Work collaboratively across multiple teams, platforms and stakeholders
- To drive coverage that captures the impact of major corporate or policy decisions.
You'll need to have:
- At least 7 years of experience in financial journalism
- At least 3 years of experience in a real-time news environment
- Experience leading, mentoring or developing teams in a newsroom
- Experience reporting on commodities or energy
- Proven leadership and project management skills
- Experience delivering content for a variety of platforms
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- Bachelor's degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
