PURPOSE OF JOB
To achieve predictable product flow to support manufacturing demand and a predictable product supply to Worldwide Customer. In areas including Order Processing, material flows, inventory control and on time delivery to meet customer orders and changing demands.
To managing materials buy activities via control and monitoring so as to keep sufficient inventory level to optimize service levels and minimizing working capital.
JOB FUNCTION
Material Planning and Buying
- Review Materials requirement planning report , plan and procure materials timely to support production schedules and changes to meet customer needs and demands.
- Ensure timely release of orders to suppliers.
- Coordinate and expedite suppliers on parts delivery to meet the production schedule timely.
- Manage and control inventory at optimum levels for Materials so as to support production to activities to avoid line stopper and to meet the inventory goals.
- Manage the materials cutover activities with high sense of urgency and manage inventory at optimal cost holding so as to meet regions sale orders and demands.
- Work and liase with production planners on materials cutover in BOM so as to realize the allocation gain from materials allocation assigned.
- Work and liaise with Quality Engineer on the closure of the NCRs for the affected incoming materials.
- Manage and reduce unfavorable variances caused by freight and other scrap due to expiration.
- Continuous improvement through improved working relationship with suppliers and consistent review of delivery schedules.
- Prepare weekly materials status report and monthly suppliers forecast reports.
- Prepare Monthly update of materials cutover on project to ensure current materials is able to support production build plan.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities with related to Merit Business Excellence (MBES) with cross functional teams (Tech Team).
Other related functions
- Maintain and update on materials planning master data in the Oracle system.
- Review of work systems for continuous improvement.
- Participate in projects requiring planning involvement as assigned.
- Support the creation of loss prevention.
Other Duties
Manage individual performance objectives effectively to ensure the section, department and plant objectives are met.
- Provide regular status updates to supervisor.
- Perform any other duties that are assigned by the immediate supervisor or Department Manager when necessary.
INTERACTION
Interface with Internal associates such as Document Control, Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Purchasing, other external liaison (inter-company, Local and Overseas customer/ suppliers/vendor) on orders expediting and reschedules, etc. to accomplish all the tasks described above.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Diploma Level with 2 years of manufacturing experience or experience on a similar capacity or Degree Holder
- Computer literacy
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.
- Drive for results and action-oriented
- Customer-oriented and customer focus are an added advantage
- MRP exposure.
