Retail Sales Supervisor

Job Summary:


The Retail Sales Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the lighting shop, ensuring exceptional customer service, driving sales, and managing a team of sales associates. This role involves training and motivating staff, managing inventory, and maintaining a visually appealing and organized store environment.


Key Responsibilities:


Team Management:

  • Supervise and support sales associates in their daily activities.
  • Conduct training sessions for new hires and ongoing training for current staff.
  • Prepare and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Monitor and evaluate employee performance, providing feedback and coaching.

Customer Service:

  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and assist in product selection.
  • Handle customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Sales and Marketing:

  • Set and monitor sales targets for the team.
  • Implement strategies to achieve and exceed sales goals.
  • Plan and execute in-store promotions and special events.
  • Stay informed about the latest lighting products and trends.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder stock as needed.
  • Ensure products are accurately displayed and priced.
  • Oversee the merchandising and presentation of products.

Store Operations:

  • Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and legal regulations.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate and analyze sales reports to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Provide regular feedback to management on store performance and customer preferences.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a dipolma / degree in business, management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a retail sales role, preferably in the lighting or home improvement industry.
  • Some supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle customer complaints and issues effectively.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proven ability to drive sales and meet targets.
  • Knowledge of lighting products, including technical specifications and installation requirements, is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
