Core Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
- Reviews and understands all plans and specifications of projects
- Reviews and understands all contract documents before tendering / bidding of project or enquiry
- Reviews all Materials Take-Off (MTO)
- Reviews all labour & materials cost for quotation
- Meets with subcontractors and major material vendors to maintain updated rates / price list on materials and services required, in coordination with Purchasing team
- Coordinates with Operations and Production team for labour and other related costings to ensure all quotation provided are at a competitive level
- Ensures all additional costings are captured for all projects
- Undertakes any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Commercial Manager
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Understanding of interior design concepts, materials, and spatial requirements.
- Proficiency in using software for accurate material and labor cost estimation.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations to ensure compliance in cost estimates.
- Ability to analyze project requirements and quantify costs accurately.
- Effective communication with design teams, suppliers, and clients to address cost-related queries.
- Ability to collaborate with suppliers to obtain accurate pricing for materials.
- Understanding of project management processes and the ability to contribute to the development of accurate project budgets and timelines
2. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Interior Design, or related field
3. PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE
- With 4 years of work experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a Marine Industry is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the interior design, construction, or related industry.
