The Product Stewardship Senior/Manager provides expert product stewardship guidance to the business regarding materials, ingredients and overall regulatory activities for the company’s traditional cigarettes and next generation products portfolio. As a key member of the Product function, the incumbent shall drive product stewardship and regulatory activities across the company’s R&D and commercial product lifecycle in existing and new markets.
The incumbent is expected to have a background in chemical sciences and be able to apply specialized scientific knowledge to drive material/product safety and stewardship. He/She should be comfortable working with ambiguity and be resourceful in finding information especially when dealing with new ingredients or materials. The incumbent is also expected to possess a firm understanding of the current and future regulatory landscape with respect to the traditional and next generation nicotine industry.
Responsibilities
- Be the technical expert in ingredient, chemical and material safety
- Act as the point of contact with external suppliers regarding material health and safety engagement and information sourcing
- Provide guidance to key R&D and Product stakeholders on product/ingredient safety during the product development process
- Expert knowledge in current and future regulatory landscape for the nicotine industry, or demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness to find such information
- Anticipate and advise the business on commercial risks in the product lifecycle, and work with key stakeholders to mitigate such risks
- Able to develop and maintain a fit for purpose Product Stewardship/EHS library to support the business
Requirements
· Master/Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or other physical sciences
· Minimum 5 years experience (for Manager) or 8 years experience (for Senior Manager) in a Product Stewardship role or similar in the consumer goods industry
· Minimum 3 years experience in dealing with ingredient, chemical or material safety and product stewardship in food, beverage or tobacco industry
· Minimum 3 years experience or demonstrable knowledge of Asia and Europe nicotine industry regulatory landscape
