M&E Facility Technician (Biotech)

Position Summary

The M&E Facility Technician will assist the M&E Facility Executive in coordinating operations and maintenance activities, including retrofitting works in the office and GMP facility, to ensure clean, safe, and functional environments. You may be tasked with performing risk assessments to ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) practices. You will communicate with relevant personnel in response to requests and feedback from facility users. Additionally, you will liaise with third-party service providers to ensure repair and maintenance works are carried out timely and comply with quality and safety standards.

You are a good communicator, people-oriented, and service-oriented. You will work at designated properties during business hours but may be required to be on-call after office hours in case of emergencies. You will assist with maintenance activities associated with plant turnaround and may specialize in electrical, rotating, static, or instrumentation and control-related maintenance work. This position applies safe system of work (SSoW) procedures and risk control measures to ensure work activities are carried out safely and in compliance with relevant regulations.

Essential Job Functions

1. Ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Emergency Response Plans (ERP) established.
2. Participate and assist in maintaining all significant planned and ad hoc maintenance events for the facility, ensuring these activities are performed in a controlled and proven method to ensure the reliability of critical processes supported by these systems.
3. Coordinate and integrate aspects of electrical and mechanical systems, operations, and maintenance for all critical and non-critical mechanical/electrical systems.
4. Verify all maintenance work carried out by contractors and ensure compliance with prescribed standards.
5. Perform routine facility activities such as inventory control (spare parts) and critical system checks and functional tests.
6. Respond and take action in response to facility crisis management activities such as power outages, fire alarms, and ACMV failures.
7. Coordinate movements of building assets.
8. Supervise routine maintenance services of third-party service providers.
9. Communicate with relevant personnel for timely actions in response to user requests and feedback.
10. Review documentation on procedures and schedules of custodial services.
11. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure overall compliance of manufacturing processes with required cGMP.
12. Assist the M&E Facility Executive with day-to-day operations of cGMP utility equipment and systems.
13. Assist the M&E Facility Executive with routine environmental monitoring tasks and any other ad hoc tasks assigned.
14. Assist in managing company properties.

Requirements

1. Possess at least a Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
2. More than 3 years’ experience in a Bio-Lifesciences environment. Candidates with MNC or GMP experience will have an advantage.
3. Working understanding of Lab/GMP operations, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supply Chain, and related functions.
4. Applicants with knowledge in vendor management will have an advantage.
5. Position and title will be accorded per work or industry experience of the candidate.
6. Self-starter, self-motivated - effective as an individual contributor and team player with other functions.
7. Ability to communicate technical knowledge clearly and understandably.
8. Able to interpret control schematics and perform troubleshooting and hands-on minor repairs/maintenance.
9. Hands-on experience with facility and utility systems (process gas/purified water/ACMV/HVAC) and laboratory equipment/instruments will be preferred.
10. Candidate who is bilingual in spoken English and Chinese will have an advantage for role involving technical knowledge transfer and collaboration between China and Singapore.

Working Days and Hours

Mon-Fri; 9am to 6pm

Salary: Up to $4,500 depending on relevant working experiences
