Job Summary
- Actively participate in the origination and structuring, and take an ownership role in the execution of non-recourse project finance loans and other structured debt products across the Asia Pacific region with a core focus on renewable energy, social, digital and sustainable transportation infrastructure.
- Develop relationships and build a network of clients, advisors and other banks to support the origination of new business opportunities and deal execution.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain client, advisor and bank relationships and assist with bankability assessment with a view to support our clients' needs whilst accounting for credit risk profile adjustments within the financing structure.
- Run the screening of new transactions from a strategic, credit and financial perspective.
- Lead the due diligence and credit approval process for new transactions.
- Participate in the negotiation of client mandates, advisor appointments and financing documentation.
- Utilise the full suite of key project financing principles and credit considerations and bring this together with sector specific concepts to optimise the due diligence process.
- Seek out and participate in internal and external training programmes to further develop key skills whilst also supporting the development of other team members.
- Assist with identification and entry into new markets and sectors, in line with Structured Finance APAC Strategy and the banks' growth strategy.
- Build relationships and liaise with internal stakeholders from other departments on project documentation and analysis.
- Maintain awareness of and comply with regulatory requirements and relevant NORD/LB policies, procedures, tools and processes whilst actively seeking opportunities to implement best practices and drive process optimisation.
- Work effectively in a multilingual and multicultural virtual and physical office environment that supports personal freedom and diversity within and outside of the team.
Preferred Credentials
- Bachelor's Degree or other equivalent vocational study, ideally in a Finance, Engineering, Economics or Legal field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an equivalent or similar role, or other relatable experience combined with an MBA from reputable institution. Experience in Asia Pacific region is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge and personal passion for financing and development of large-scale renewable energy, social, digital and/or sustainable transportation infrastructure projects. Knowledge of sustainability or ESG developments in relevant sectors and markets, as well as ESG / green loan requirements where applicable.
- Detailed understanding of project finance structures and knowledge of key financing and project document terms.
- Experienced project finance modelling and debt sizing capabilities.
- Self-motivated, independent worker with strong personal drive and ability to think through and propose solutions to complex problems in a team environment.
- Business focused team player that can independently contribute to the team's target delivery.
- Client focused with a commercial mind-set, combined with a balanced approach to credit risk matters and an ability to think outside of the box.
- Professional image and approachable manner with excellent communication skills and a "can do" attitude.
