Objectives of the Position
Leading Asia Pacific crop system and maximizing global crop system R&D investment by targeting rotational crop systems in Asia Pacific. Responsible for steering rotational crop system business operations and customer relevance of portfolio offering for the region for respective crop(s) to deliver ambitious financial and strategic goals.
Main Tasks:
Leading APAC wheat and soy crop system:
- Update grower and customer demands in rotational crop systems. Develop regional crop system plans, identify target segments and growth opportunities.
- Represent APAC region in the global Crop System forum, maximize Life Cycle Management (LCM) project opportunities in APAC, Focal contact point of wheat, soy crop systems.
- Represent regional needs in global SBU strategy development, ensure SBU strategy and Asset management implementation in key countries.
- Contribute an integrated drive country perspective on the areas of weed, disease, pest control and seeds strategy.
In rotational crop systems: lead development of key projects to deliver approved business cases.
- Drive recommendation of Life Cycle Management (LCM) projects and business cases to ensure a competitive and sustainable mid to long term product portfolio.
- Lead country LCM project prioritization and allocation aligning with global strategy. Propose ideas to crop teams for gap filling (new opportunity finding projects).
- Supervise asset managers on project management for approved development and LCM projects.
- Develop connected offers including seeds & traits, digital, Food Value Chain and sustainability.
Steer rotational crop system business operations:
- Lead pricing and profitability management. Develop portfolio and launch innovation to market.
- Drive the countries development and implementation of crop strategies and launch plans to focus on key products.
- Develop Go to Market strategies including 3rd party alliance.
- Drive portfolio optimization and rationalization.
- Lead asset management team and optimize asset lifecycle in APAC.
Leading country crop teams
- Develop a regional wheat and soy strategy implementation plan to shape the development of the crop connected offer portfolio roadmap in key APAC markets.
- Lead identification of new business opportunities and differentiators for market share growth including synergy opportunities across countries via best practice sharing and systematic transfer of information concerning market, customer, and competition.
- Build market intelligence for the crop via regular monitoring of market and competitor activities. Define competitive medium-long term scenarios including regional assumption and identification of significant trends.
- Coach Drive countries to develop the skills and competencies within the country marketing community.
- Provide crop and product expertise to the countries in Asia to develop their crop portfolio and business.
- Drive countries to manage and review key projects locally and input updates into New Galaxy.
- Ensure SBU strategy and Asset management implementation in key countries.
At least 25% travel to countries including remote villages, visiting farmers, retailers, and distributors.
Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor's degree in Agriculture/ Marketing or related field.
- More than 10 years of relevant experience including operative experience in a Commercial role, preferable Sales and/or Marketing, New product and business development or sales experience.
- Work experience in Crop Protection industry or Agriculture value chain or related industry.
- Knowledge in technical development.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to work across levels for successful implementation.
- Understanding of new technologies and systems, ranging from chemistry, biology and other technologies
- Ability to steer change management and adoption of new business models and ways of thinking.
