Our client, the world’s largest geotechnical specialist contractor, is looking for a Design Managerfor their Singapore office. 5 days work/week with 21 days annual leave, our client pays performance bonuses annually.
about the job
- Lead the works in accordance with site specific HSEQ Construction Methodologies, Risk Assessments, Site Rules and Company Policies and Procedures.
- Liaising closely with clients, consultants & authorities by using technical expertise to adopt / accept / approve the technical proposal for the projects.
- Ensure the design process in compliance with current legislation, standards and codes of practice.
- Ensure the design information is of the right quality and keep pace with project timeline.
- Strive to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during the construction process.
- Preparing detailed investigation report for any incidents related to technical issues.
- Review with the Business Development team on project closing reports and develop future improvement plans / strategies to reduce risk(s).
- Be involved in society work, including writing papers to seminars.
- Propose Design &Build geotechnical solutions, including solutions for ground improvement where relevant.
- Lead, develop and provide training to the team of Engineers.
skills & experience required
- PEB-recognised bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or higher.
- Min 10 years’ experience in a geotechnical design role in the construction industry.
- Experience with PLAXIS will be advantageous.
