Job Description Summary:

The Merchant Services Platform team is looking for a strategic and experienced director of engineering to join the team in Singapore.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter and self-motivated individual with strong passion and experience in the payment landscape and must have strong technology leadership and experiences building teams from the ground up. The candidate should have the technical expertise to lead software and architecture discussions and guide cross-functional product and engineering teams through functional definition, solution, and integration stages on large scale. The candidate should possess deep understanding of financial services and associated platforms and technology. This position is highly visible in the organization and involves frequent interaction with the senior executives as well as all other levels and external stakeholders, locally and globally.

Meet our team

Merchant Services Platform team is part of Merchant engineering team focuses on delivering services and capabilities for all merchants SMBs, Partners, and Enterprises. Our mission is to build platform capabilities to enable the success of the broader Merchant engineering team including, PPCP, BT, and Checkout.

Your way to impact

You will own the concept, productization, and delivery of the technical solutions improves productivity, drives operational efficiency and scale to support our business growth. You will partner closely with our product team and cross-functional experts responsible for building a great experience for all merchants SMBs, Partners, and Enterprises.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Build, mentor, and manage a team of software architects and engineers
  • Help define project scope and own deliveries
  • Be a technical subject matter expert and represent the full internal and external capabilities of the platform.
  • Lead complex architectural discussions that involve multiple systems
  • Identify any product/functionality gaps and collaborate internal product and technology teams to define the necessary development to support solution delivery.
  • Drive integration efforts and lead critical work streams of strategic initiatives sponsored by senior executives
  • Drive engineering excellency through CI/CD
  • Pro-active response in identifying and troubleshooting integration or technical issues.

  • Minimum of 10+ years' hands-on experience building large scalable financial services technology platforms
  • Strong team building and managing experience.
  • Experience in architecture, design and implementation of Financial Systems/Platforms such as Core Banking, Back-end Payment Hubs, Financial reconciliation and reporting.
  • Expertise in designing for reliability, availability, scalability, and performance in highly regulated Financial Services industry preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create structure and drive progress in an ambiguous environment.
  • Superb communication skills: ability to comfortably interact with executive management.
  • Demonstrated ability to scope, create and successfully deploy new strategy/ initiatives / capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams.
  • Strong ability to make decisions & forge alignment in ambiguous and changing situations.
