General Role
Supports the Regional General Counsel and regional legal team in general in ensuring the execution and compliance of all regional legal activities in the South Asia region (comprising of 9 countries) of the regional entity of a retail luxury group.
Major Responsibilities, under the supervision of the Regional Legal team:
Contracts and legal document management
● Contracts review (service provider agreements, concession agreements, communications agreements, real estate agreements etc)
● Drafting of legal documentation, correspondence and contracts
● Management of existing contracts database – renewal/expiry dates of key contracts, summary of key contracts (mainly leases, distribution agreements)
● Template Management - Creating, managing and updating template contracts and legal documentation
● Drafting and updating policies and procedures as required
General legal support
● Legal research
● Legal monitoring - Building and maintaining a legal knowledge database
● Assisting with the regional legal newsletter
● Training – Assisting Group and Regional legal teams in localization of training modules (in collaboration with external law firms where necessary)
Corporate secretarial / legal formalities
● Assisting the Group and Regional legal teams in the organization of Board meetings and AGMs
● Business license registrations and renewals, liaising with ACRA where necessary
● Certification/notarisation of documents
● Managing correspondence with banks for certain matters related to delegations of authorities
Requirements & Capabilities:
● Minimum LLB/JD Bachelor of laws degree from a common law jurisdiction
● Exposure and understanding of the Civil Law system is a plus
● Prior practical legal experience in a law firm or in-house is mandatory
● International exposure is a must
● Must be a good team player, pleasant, detail oriented, organized, proactive and self-motivated
● Excellent analytical skills and English communication skills (written and verbal). Korean language skills would be a plus.
● Hands on computer knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
