Release Train Engineer
We are helping our client to look for a skilled Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join their development team. As the RTE, you will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of software products through the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). You will oversee the coordination and execution of Agile Release Trains (ARTs), ensuring alignment, collaboration, quality assurance and seamless delivery across multiple Agile teams, including Application Developers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, DevOps Engineers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Facilitate Agile Release Trains (ARTs): Coordinate and manage the release planning process, including PI planning, to ensure smooth and predictable delivery cycles.
- Manage Dependencies and Risks: Identify and manage cross-team dependencies and risks, facilitating problem-solving and ensuring timely resolution of impediments.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing and tracking key performance metrics, conducting retrospectives, and driving actionable improvements.
- Support Agile Teams: Provide guidance and support to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and development teams to ensure adherence to Agile practices and principles.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and transparent communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and issues, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Coach and Mentor: Coach teams and individuals on Agile best practices, facilitating training sessions, and promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Program Management: Oversee the management and execution of multiple projects within the ART, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality delivery by enforcing best practices in coding, testing, and deployment across teams.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications:
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
- PMP or Prince2 certification is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Agile project management or as a Scrum Master in a software development environment.
- Proven experience in managing Agile Release Trains (ARTs) or large-scale Agile programs.
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable.
