Job Description
Full-time research assistant to Professor Ruben Durante at the Department of Economics, National University of Singapore.
Scope and Responsibilities:
The RA will work on a portfolio of research projects in applied microeconomics and political economy. He/she will be directly involved in the entire research process, including:
- Data collection, cleaning, visualization and analysis
- Various administrative duties, including proof-reading of manuscripts, coordinating with research stakeholders and preparing presentation slides
- Drafting of research grant proposals and IRB applications
- Implementation of survey experiments (i.e. conduct randomization, prepare survey questions and manage experimental participants etc.)
Required skills and interests:
- Strong computing skills in Stata, R and/or Python
- Proficiency in text analysis and machine learning algorithms
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Interest in applying to graduate school in economics
- Knowledge of Italian or Spanish is a plus
Qualifications
- A strong bachelor’s degree or a masters degree in economics or related fields
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Excellent quantitative skills
- Prior experience providing research assistance is a plus
