As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining our hybrid IT infrastructure environment, encompassing both on-premises and Azure cloud resources. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT services, optimizing performance, and driving efficiency across the infrastructure landscape. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud technologies, particularly Azure, along with experience in operating within a hybrid environment. Leadership skills and the ability to guide a team will be highly advantageous.
Hybrid Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of our hybrid infrastructure environment, comprising on-premises and Azure cloud resources.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal functionality and uptime.
- Manage the connectivity and integration between on-premises and cloud resources, ensuring seamless communication and data transfer.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure components.
- Leverage DevOps practices to integrate automated processes into the deployment pipeline.
- Develop documentations (SOPs or operating manuals) pertaining to Azure infrastructure management and operations
Azure Cloud Management:
- Utilize Azure management tools and services to provision, configure, and manage cloud resources effectively.
- Implement best practices for security, scalability, and cost optimization within the Azure environment.
- Monitor resource utilization and implement strategies to optimize performance and minimize costs.
- Maintain and manage the VNet and Firewall rules in Azure.
- Ensure network security, performance, and reliability through proactive monitoring and optimization efforts.
- Collaborate with network engineers to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues.
Teamwork:
- To cooperate and work with a team of cloud operations engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Knowledge sharing with team members, providing technical expertise and career development support.
- Coordinate with other IT teams and stakeholders to prioritize tasks and projects effectively.
Skills for Success:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in operating within a hybrid IT environment, with a focus on managing cloud resources.
- Minimum requirement to have a cloud certification in Azure or AWS
- ITIL v3 or ITIL v4 certified will be advantageous
- Proficiency in Azure cloud services, including but not limited to VMs, networking, storage, and identity management.
- Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Team leadership experience is advantageous.
