Job Description
The Department of Food Science & Technology (FST) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is Singapore’s first Department of Food Science & Technology in the university sector. Established in 1999 initially as the FST Programme in the Faculty of Science, it was elevated to a full academic department in January 2020 in the same Faculty. The Department has expanded significantly in both education and research to help Singapore to achieve food resilience and security as well as to advance Singapore’s food industry.
The FST Department would like to invite applications for tenure-track faculty position in ‘Food Hydrocolloids & Materials’ and ‘Food Engineering & Smart Food Processing’. The candidate will be required to:
• Develop and lead competitive research program.
• Participate in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate subjects, as well as supervision of Honours students and graduate students.
• Contribute to service duties as required.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a PhD degree in a related field from an internationally reputable university. Postdoctoral experience of at least 2 years is desirable and industrial experience is highly valued.
Applicants should demonstrable strong record and trajectory in research output, grant capture and teaching excellence. Selection will be based on applicant’s track record of relevant accomplishments and potential for outstanding future contributions.
