Key Responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining computer systems and networks to meet organizational requirements.
- Evaluating existing systems and proposing improvements or upgrades to enhance performance, security, and reliability.
- Troubleshooting system and network issues, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions in a timely manner.
- Collaborating with other IT professionals to integrate systems and ensure compatibility across platforms.
- Providing technical support and guidance to end-users, assisting with software/hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Monitoring system performance and security, implementing preventive measures to mitigate potential risks.
- Documenting system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.
- Participating in the planning and execution of system upgrades, migrations, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in systems engineering or a similar role, with a strong understanding of computer systems and networks.
- Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), networking protocols, and infrastructure components (servers, routers, switches, etc.).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effectively interacting with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing system issues.
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Associate) is a plus.
- Willingness to stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve system capabilities.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, when necessary, particularly during system upgrades or maintenance activities.
