Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Blasting/Painting Manager to oversee our blasting and painting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial coatings, surface preparation techniques, and project management within process plant and terminal environments. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of painting operations for process plants, terminals, and related infrastructure, including storage tanks, pipelines, and structural components.
- Supervise a team of painting technicians and contractors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and safety protocols.
- Develop comprehensive painting plans and procedures, encompassing surface preparation, coating application, quality assurance, and project scheduling, in collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and client representatives to plan and execute painting projects according to specifications, deadlines, and budget constraints.
- Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of substrate conditions, coating systems, and environmental factors to identify and address potential challenges or risks.
- Oversee the selection and procurement of painting equipment, materials, and consumables, ensuring suitability for the specific application and adherence to industry standards.
- Monitor project progress, resource utilization, and productivity levels, implementing corrective actions as necessary to optimize efficiency and meet project goals.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in process plant/terminal painting, corrosion protection, and asset maintenance.
- Implement HSE objectives, policy, and company HSE procedures within his authority limit.
- To integrate Risk-based thinking and HSE considerations into business decisions, plans and operations with the commitment to eliminate and reduce HSE hazards, aspects and risks.
- To be proactive in creating a safe working environment for everyone and ensuring that HSE in-house rules are observed at all times.
- To consider HSE aspects when planning and carrying out tasks to eliminate and reduce HSE hazards, aspects, and risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Corrosion Science, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
- Extensive experience in industrial blasting and painting operations within the oil and gas industry, with a minimum of 10 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques, coating materials, application methods, and quality control procedures applicable to process plant/terminal environments.
- Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of effectively managing teams and driving project success.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software applications.
- Certifications in painting and coating application (e.g., SSPC C12, C14, C16) preferred.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements governing painting activities in industrial settings (e.g., SSPC, NACE, OSHA).
