Job Summary
The Audit Associate is responsible for performing aspects of attest engagements (audits, reviews, and compilations) in a wide variety of industries including; real estate, technology, hospitality, nonprofit, construction, and distribution. This person will gain valuable experience working alongside senior staff and manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Learn about the profession and current professional standards
- Gain a solid understanding of effective work paper principals
- Document audit findings for common scenarios, express ideas clearly and concisely, and properly reference source data
- Gain knowledge in audit theory, understanding of relevant financial statement assertions, and application of double-entry accounting
- Completion of basic audit sections
- Participate in planning, risk assessment, and scheduling
- Work on audit, review, and compilation engagements
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Working toward obtaining CA/CPA license
- 1 experience in public accounting firm preferred
- Ability for some limited travel for work purpose
- Ability to work extended hours as necessary
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
