My client is a reputable academic institution looking to hire a Database (DBA) Administrator/ Senior Database Administrator.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage in-house and cloud-based database projects, including vendor management.
- Prepare specifications for tenders, evaluate and implement outsourced systems.
- Participate in various database-related projects, including upgrades, job scheduling, performance tuning, security management, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews, gather user feedback, and schedule enhancements.
- Administer tools like SQL Management Studio, SQL Server SSIS, SAP GUI and administer the SAP system.
- Provide technical support for existing databases and documentation.
- Coordinate system design, release, and deployment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in enterprise cloud and on-premise database and data warehouse implementation and administration.
- Familiarity with cloud systems like AWS, Azure) and on-premise database technologies, including configuration and administration of enterprise databases, database firewalls, and data warehouses.
- Experience in installing, upgrading, maintaining, tuning, and troubleshooting databases, particularly MS SQL Server.
- Familiarity with Windows, database backup and recovery, and cluster-failover technologies.
- Experience in SAP Basis or Database Firewall administration is a plus, not a much.
- Good communication and project management skills.
