JOB DESCRIPTION
As a member of the Global Communications & Public Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally to help communicate with journalists and other thought leaders; devise specific communications materials and campaigns based on an understanding of media's interests.
Leading the regional Corporate Communications team based in Singapore, you will help to tell Google’s story and build communications plans and materials to inform and educate users, partners, opinion leaders and policymakers about Google's products, policies, our corporate culture and approach. We're looking for a great communicator who can work collaboratively with a range of internal stakeholders and provide counsel to different parts of the organization on communication strategies on some of the most interesting topics and issues facing the technology industry today.
Qualifications
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive corporate communications activities primarily through supporting and counseling country PR teams, and in alignment with other regional teams, across a range of corporate issues and topics.
- Collaborate with Google Business, Public Policy, Legal and Trust & Safety teams to create proactive communications strategies and handle reactive media inquiries to convey Google’s point of view and key benefits of our products and services.
- Coordinate and facilitate interviews and develop briefing materials to prepare key spokespeople for cross-organizational comms, coaching execs on PR and external comms to be effective Google spokespeople.
- Craft narratives, develop written materials and content, including story pitches, messaging, blog posts and social assets, Q&As, presentations and speeches.Provide advice to company executives for media interactions and presentations.
- Manage a team that delivers the above work across a range of corporate issues and topics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, policy or public affairs roles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 4 years of experience in a people management, supervision, or team leadership role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
