Job Description
- To drive the procurement process by developing intimate knowledge of selected shipping sectors through study, analysis, personal contacts with carriers and feeder operators, brokers and any other sources of market intelligence in making sound procurement decisions
- Optimise and manage fixed slot purchases and slot exchanges
- Assist in new service development (evaluate feasibility and profitability of new service, run financial and sensitivity analysis)
- Maximise yield through proactive cargo flow management and drive operational cost efficiency (vessel fleet schedule management, fuel conservation, optimisation initiatives and service quality assurance
- Identify data elements and perform data analytics into actionable information that drives better business decisions (ie analyse and trace financial and operational performance of the services)
- To communicate with overseas offices and agencies with focus on teamwork and performance
- Ensure efficient operations of the feeder services (i.e., scheduling, berthing plans, requisition of bunker supply)
Requirements
- Around 2-3 years working experience in the container shipping or freight-forwarding industry
- Proficient in Microsoft excel, especially with VLOOKUP and pivot table
- Strong communication skills and customer oriented
- Tertiary education and above, preferably in shipping, logistic management, or business administration
