The Smart Remanufacturing Systems (SRS) Group is inviting applications for an Assistant Development Engineer (ADE) position in the Surface Enhancement team. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the process development and optimization of surface enhancement related projects for Industry members from Aerospace, Energy and FMCG industries.
Job Description
- Conduct process development and design of experiments including execution of experimental trials
- Conduct material characterization and measurements
- Data collection and preliminary analyses of experimental results
- Prepare 2D & 3D CAD Drawings ,fabrication of fixtures and liaising with vendors/suppliers for purchases
- Maintain accurate records ,laboratory data, methods, results and CAD drawings
- Prepare presentation and reports, draft of project proposals and risk assessment/ safe work procedure documents
Job requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in using CAD software
- At least 1 year experience in mechanical design and/or production engineering
- Comfortable with handling heavy equipment operations, conduct physical experiment work and process troubleshooting.
- Prior hands-on experience in material characterization such as roughness measurements etc, will be highly advantageous.
- Strong willingness to acquire new knowledge and skills, including material testing, new process development, etc.
- Exemplary attention to detail and technically inclined towards process and laboratory work
- Comfortable with customer/vendor interactions and adept in handling project negotiations
- (optional) Basic knowledge in finite element modelling or any experience in process simulation
