As the Workshop Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational activities within the workshop, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained at the highest standards. Your duties will include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop to ensure smooth functioning.
- Upholding safety and quality standards, implementing necessary measures to maintain them at a high level.
- Handling budget and profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities for the workshop's cost center.
- Planning and scheduling work-in-progress (WIP) jobs, monitoring job progress to ensure timely completion in line with contractual commitments.
- Ensuring timely maintenance and calibration of plant equipment and tools.
- Assessing workload for different sections and deploying manpower accordingly.
- Reviewing individual proficiency levels and planning training programs as needed.
- Developing a succession plan for critical personnel to ensure adequate support during surges or absences.
- Identifying and implementing Continuous Improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, and process workflow and achieve cost savings.
- Maintaining a high level of discipline and commitment among workshop technicians.
- Establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for team members and tracking their progress regularly.
You will also collaborate with other Shop Managers to streamline operations, improve costs, quality, and turnaround time collectively.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics engineering, or related fields.
- Previous experience in component repair and overhaul operations is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing large teams is preferred.
