Core Responsibilities
- Participate in the Givaudan Perfumery School Training Programme in a Creative Centre (Year 3)
- Complete internships in Fragrance Analysis (3 months); S&T (1 month); Technical Perfumery (3 months); Evaluation (4 months); and Library Management, in function of background and prior experience (Year 3)
- Work under mentorship of experience perfumers in 3 different product segments (4 months each) to gain experience and basic technical and formulation knowledge -> if perfumer's allocation to a future segment is known, choose the 3 complementary segments (Year 4)
- Work on the final "Masterpiece project" to be presented during the 2nd half of year 4
- Develop knowledge of key internal processes and systems, as well as of the regulatory and legislative framework Develop basic market knowledge (i.e. on products, brands, categories, consumers, manufacturers/clients) Develop basic knowledge about Givaudan capabilities and tools in CMI
Academic Background
- University Degree preferred: science/chemistry or other suitable field of study
- Verbal and written command of English
- Proficiency in one or more additional languages is an asset
- Basic proficiency using common PC applications
Professional Experience
- Successfully completed the 2 first years of the Givaudan Perfumery School training program
- Continues to demonstrate the same primary qualifications as required for a Student
Technical Skills
Fragrance Creation
- Ingredients & Formulation
- Demonstrates strong olfactive skills, ability to define, recognize, memorize and described odours in fragrance language terms Demonstrates knowledge of raw material palette and ingredients (naturals &synthetics)
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of Givaudan specialties and captives
- Demonstrates understanding of basic analytical methodologies (G.C. HPlC, Mass Spec.)
- Systems, Processes, RAPS/Legislation
- Demonstrates basic competence in the use of Sphinx fragrance creation tool, as well as in formula referencing and registration Demonstrates basic knowledge of RAPS and the legislative framework
