- Oversee the construction of projects from start to finish
- Working autonomously as a construction manager to independently manage all aspects of projects from concept to completion
- Managing internal and external stakeholders, consultants and contractors
- Managing contracts and letting tenders and negotiating with contractors and suppliers
- Preparing project programmes and monitoring projects in line with those programmes
- Working within Currie & Brown guidelines and templates to develop and manage project control systems for inclusion in project execution plans
- Preparing site assessments, due diligence reports, master plans and feasibility studies
- Managing design, including reviewing and co-ordinating consultant documentation and preparing tender documentation
- Preparing and presenting of reports and assessments
- Instigating, attending and directing meetings, including sending invitations, agendas and minutes
- Delivering contract administration services, including evaluating progress claims, variations, extensions of time and completion documentation
- Monitoring project costs in line with the approved budget and manage key projects issues
- Developing and maintaining risk registers
- Preparing detailed programmes for the implementation of the project, monitoring and reporting on actual performance when compared with the plan
- Coordinate site construction team activities and supervise field activities to ensure project completion on schedule and within budget.
- Assist in preparation of, review and provide construction inputs and technical evaluation of Subcontract Requisition /specification documentation.
- Maintain construction schedule, order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the construction process.
- Prepare schedules and supervise the completion of the final punch list.
- Ensure job site safety, safe work practices and rectify job site hazards once identified.
- Coordinate with Client and Operations team on preparation & execution of Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Start-up activities for the plant.
- Site management for construction activities e.g. Civil & Structural, etc.
- Liaise with local authorities on permitting process and ensure all applicable inspections are completed during the construction phase.
- Prepare and report daily, weekly, Monthly reports & forecast project progress.
- In charge of Claim management from Contractors.
- Resolve construction problems and issues
- Inspect work to ensure that it meets quality standards. Oversee demolition of existing plants and buildings if and when required.
