Title: Purchasing & Planning Manager (Food based Consumer Goods Manufacturing)

The company has a significant presence in Asia in terms of its reputable market position in developing high-quality manufacturing and supply chain/ distribution capabilities and takes pride in ensuring optimized end-to-end food processing and supply chain management to achieve maximized customer satisfaction.
They are currently hiring a suitable candidate as an experienced Purchasing & Planning Manager.
He/she will be the senior point of contact in terms of ensuring optimized food processing, supply chain management as well as on-time distribution/delivery processes which are in accordance with the relevant customs regulations, etc.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Procurement Director, this position will be focusing on the below:
- Lead key strategies specific to end to end Sourcing & Pricing Management, and work cross functionally with Commercial team/Production team for overall demand planning to maximize monthly and annual spend
- Spearhead optimization in overall direct/indirect raw material (including that of packaging) category spend
- Maintain excellent supplier partner relationship both locally and regionally. Identifies and evaluates potential suppliers of meat related products locally / regionally
- Familiar with food regulations and import license requirements to ensure that the company's procurement practices align with regulatory standards
- Ensure necessary supplier performance review and required deep-dive evaluations to make happen consistent product quality outputs and improved logistics lead time
- Introduce effective spend analysis methodologies and adopt overall procurement best practices, including that of formulating effective Alternate Sourcing strategies to optimize operations cost savings
Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 -8 years of relevant experience in end-to-end FMCG Sourcing Management role in a complex Consumer Goods Manufacturing environment
- Relevant working experience in the Food Services industry, preferably in Meat / Seafood /Dairy categories.
- Acquired strategic experiences in managing and optimising capabilities of a very lean team
- Proven track record in Supply Chain & Procurement/ Sourcing skills, with acquired solution-oriented mind set to deal with complex range of food and related consumer products
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to relay and/or drive process improvements to important senior stakeholders
- Good change management skills to identify and streamline existing operational processes in line with business growth and joint ventures
- Good understanding of SAP and equivalent ERP system is highly preferred
