Job Description
· Governance and Compliance:Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, quality, technical standards, and health and safety aspects of the company. Advocate and enforce environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards, integrity, compliance, and ethics.
· Financial and Resource Management:Plan, manage, and execute lab financials, manpower, resources, and hiring. Handle purchasing and inventory management.
· Operational Oversight: Oversee strategic goal planning and execution, manage laboratory operations, and escalate lab issues. Spearhead improvement plans and execute them.
· Staff Management: Evaluate staff performance, train, and supervise all section staff. Lead by example.
· Testing and Validation:Perform validation of results, issue reports, conduct method studies and tasks, plan and execute proficiency testing (PT), and interpret standards. Ensure all equipment is calibrated as per schedule.
· Quality Control: Conduct internal audits, quality control checks, equipment maintenance and calibration, and ensure compliance with SAC-SINGLAS requirements for bunker oil testing.
· Customer Interaction: Discuss test results with customers and act as a liaison between the lab and management. Highlight unusual results for further investigation.
· Documentation and SOPs: Review and write standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance.
The Successful Applicant
A candidate with a minimum degree in Chemistry, Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Science, or a related field, along with 5 years of laboratory experience. Key qualifications include:
· Proficiency in method-related tasks
· SAC Singlas signatory experience
· At least 5 years as a laboratory manager with strong technical knowledge
· Expertise in audit and CAPA management
· Exceptional managerial and multitasking skills
· In-depth knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols
· Effective interaction with operational, scientific personnel, and department management.
