Job Description & Requirements

The Singapore Scout Association is a non-discriminatory youth movement established in 1910 dedicated to the development and enablement of young people in Singapore to become responsible and active citizens. Through the Mission of educating young people on a value system based on the Scout Promise and Scout Law, Scouts help to build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Provide administrative and operational support for Scouting Programmes, Award Ceremonies, and National Events.
  2. Assist in facilitating and conducting programmes and camps for youths to develop their skills and instill good character and values.
  3. Collaborate with various stakeholders (volunteer adult leaders, external partners, and government agencies) to achieve the goals of the department and organization.
  4. Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of existing and new Scouting Programmes.
  5. Assist in coordinating and preparing notes/minutes of meetings as required.
  6. Help monitor and manage the internal membership system to provide accurate and up-to-date information for various programmes.
  7. Assist in the preparation of income and statements, claims, and expenditure, ensuring payments are accounted for and duly submitted to the finance department/partners/supervisor.
  8. Support the development, management, and implementation of projects/duties assigned by the supervisor or Executive Director.

  • Learn the intricacies of non-profit operations and youth development programmes.
  • Acquire practical knowledge in administrative tasks and financial management.

Contract Details

  • This is a 6-month internship contract with the possibility of conversion to full-time employment based on performance and organizational needs.

Characteristics & Requirements

  • Fresh diploma graduates or individuals currently pursuing a part-time diploma or degree in any discipline; qualifications and/or experience in Outdoor Education, Psychology will be an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • A fast learner and resourceful.
  • Interest or passion in developing youths.
  • Team player with effective communication and writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and familiar with Google’s related platforms.

Working Hours

Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am to 6:30 pm

Remuneration

$2,100
