At Trehaus School, the teacher is first and foremost a resource and guide as he/she
lends expertise to children, carefully listens to them, observes them in play and
learning, and documents children's work. He/She carries out a project and play-based curriculum and is himself/herself a lifelong learner, passionate about early years education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement a holistic and developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum using our Trehaus Method and approach
- Provide a safe and clean learning environment for the care and development of children in the centre
- Plan and prepare activities and resources to support the various curriculum areas
- Ensure that centre’s service meets the needs of children and families
For K1/K2 Teachers
- Has at least 5 GCE “O’ level credits including EL or MT.
- Has the Diploma in Pre-school Education - Teaching (DPE-T) / Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE-T), or its equivalent recognised by ECDA for K1/K2 teachers;
- Has been registered with ECDA and attained a L2 certification
For N2 Teachers
- Has at least 3 GCE “O’ level credits including EL or MT.
- Has the Certificate in Pre-school Teaching (CPT) / Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (CECCE), or its equivalent recognised by ECDA.
- Has been registered with ECDA and attained a L1 certification
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Demonstrate good active communicative skills
- Adequate knowledge of current early childhood care and education development theories, research and practices
- Ability to work well with children and families
- Is adaptable and willing to work in a fast-changing and dynamic environment
