Responsibilities
- Assist the Design Manager in project planning and overseeing specific works on site.
- Manage all soil investigation works, and TBM works. Cross passage works, and ground improvement works as a project geologist.
- Responsible for dealing with consultants, authorities, and clients and for subcontractor management.
- Planning of executive work schedule based on contract schedule for responsible area
- Highlight technical issues and update the Construction Department on changes and inform vendors, engineers, and supervisors.
- Plan and execute geotechnical and instrumentation installation and monitoring works.
- Site evaluation of soil, rock, fault distribution, and geological studies on site to determine their engineering properties.
- Liaise and coordinate with instrumentation contractors for installation and monitoring issues.
- Conduct interpretation of actual soil conditions and test results and oversee all excavation works (shaft, TBM, Cross passage, GIW, etc)
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of engineering geology experience with Degree in Engineering Geology
- Experience in working under compressed air for cutter-head intervention to inspect the soil face
- Prior experience in working in construction sites, especially in civil projects.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Strong time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyse and synthesize complex issues quickly and provide countermeasures to resolve issues
