Job Description
Quantity Surveying:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender doucments for construction projects.
- Conduct on-site measurements and assessments to ensure accurate quantity take-offs.
- Collaborate with project teams to review and evaluate project specifications, drawings, and requirements.
- Monitor project costs, variations, and progress to ensure adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Prepare progress claims and final accounts for clients.
Purchasing:
- Source and select suppliers/vendors for materials, equipment and services required for ongoing projects.
- Evaluate suppolier quotations and negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain and update the suppolier database, ensuring that all relevant information is accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability.
Collaborative Support:
- Collaborate with colleagues and provide guidance as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost control measures.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients regarding project requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and market conditions related to construction materials and services.
Requirements
- A minimum 2 years relevant experience as Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, practices and techiques.
- Proficient in cost estimation, measurement and valuation methods.
- Familiarity with construction materials, specifications and relevant codes & regulations.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications and tools.
- Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
