JOB OVERVIEW
Working closely with the Pastor overseeing the “Livingstones” Mandarin Service, the Director provides leadership, and shepherds and nurtures the spiritual growth of the congregation, while ensuring that the ministry work aligns with the overall church direction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and oversee the Mandarin ministry and all related activities
- Preach and teach regularly (Sunday services, funerals, and church events)
- Provide spiritual support, counselling, and pastoral care to worshippers
- Guide and work closely with staff and co-workers to plan and execute
- Provide leadership and guidance to all sub-ministries as well as mobilise worshippers to follow church direction
- Identify, equip, mentor, and empower potential leaders as part of leadership development and discipleship training
- Assist in pulpit roster planning
- Do simultaneous translation for Pastors/English-speaking speakers
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor in Theology or equivalent
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience in the areas of pastoral care and/or preaching
- Proven leadership ability within a church or ministry setting
- An effective team leader with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to minister and connect with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and age groups, including the seniors, families and youths
- Excellent communication skills and effectively bilingual in Chinese and English
- Ability to work independently, matched with good planning and organizational skills
- Willingness to work on weekends and non-traditional schedules
